Via The Bride's Cafe, an awesome wedding blog, I discovered these fabulous internationally inspired centerpieces that were created for a Bat Mitzvah party. The theme was "Cities of the World" and each table represented a different city. Guests were given boarding passes to their tables. What a great idea for a global party or wedding!

Today I was inspired by Flora Nova Design and their recent blog post letting us know that Plum is a big color for 2009. Check out their recent Plum, Cream and Chartreuse wedding! I have long loved this color combo so here is my Asian inspired version of a plum and chartreuse wedding. Via the Bride's Cafe, I discovered the most amazing and chic wedding of Maura and Bryan. This is the most impressive wedding decor I have seen so far! With a color palette of purple, black, turquoise and pink, the floral decor by Gilly Flowers is absolutely breathtaking! The bouquet is luxurious, exotic and stunning, and the centerpieces boast clever graphics inspired by the invitation motif and carried throughout the entire setting. Check out the witty menu ("me n' u"), so hip yet so sentimental! Multi-media is my favorite kind of aesthetic style ~ the use of colors, flowers, textures and graphic elements in unique ways! All of this beauty and perfection is captured by the amazing photographer Grey Bumatay and coordinated by event planner Stephanie Lairson. Amazing job!

A modern globalflora affair! I love what Henny from the abfab d*Lsh design duo has done for her own modern wedding! Inspired by Chinese tradition, the good luck color of red, and an eclectic and affordable mix n' match aesthetic, Henny's table centerpieces are gorgeous, sentimental and an inspiration for any party or special occasion! I love the well-edited use of lanterns, vases, brocade remnants, and of course the loving display of red dahlias, roses, carnations and pink orchids. d*Lsh-ously done!

Bride and Bloom magazine is like my wedding bible. I love this magazine above all others because it's modern, stylish, well edited, and has a lifestyle approach to event & floral design. It's like Elle Decor UK but for weddings...well sort of. It has a very accessible vibe and it's not over the top glossy like many bridal magazines. You even get cute bookmarks and collectible flower reference cards with each issue.

In the Summer 2008 issue, the featured coordinator was Lyndsey Hamilton of Lyndsey Hamilton Events. She was asked to design an ethnic-infused wedding. She chose "Havana Chic" as her inspiration and created a very modern take on this theme. I have always loved artwork from cigar labels and boxes and find this spread to be very refreshing!

Here is a vibrant Chinese inspired wedding theme complete with beautiful woven baskets, bamboo poles and double happiness motifs. Waterlily Pond founder, Natasha Lisitsa has an amazing body of modern floral design work that I cherish and look up to.  Natasha started doing flowers for a living by falling in love with Ikebana. Save The Date is an Event Consultancy in New York and they specialize in Ethnic Weddings (Indian, American and Cross-Cultural). I saw some of these inspiring photos in their amazing gallery and just had to share! I love the modern use of traditional symbols like the Ganesh table and a real live elephant (decorated with flowers of course) for carrying the groom! How I wish I could attend weddings like these!

This beautiful kimono inspired wedding was designed by Wiggy Flowers in San Francisco. Catherine Conlin is the owner and designer of Wiggy Flowers and explains that to be "wiggy" means to be free-spirited and unconventional--trying to push the limits of one's imagination. I really appreciate the imaginative & free-spirited use of of mint green, orange and red in this gorgeous combination of gloriosa lilies, lotus pods, freesia and orchids.
