Nausea Relief

These are the only things that seem to help with my nausea... organic apple sauce, York Peppermint Patties, Reed's Jamaican Ginger Brew, Yogi Ginger Tea and sniffing Peppermint essential oil. I know, poor me!

12 Weeks and we heard the heartbeat!

What a day! On April 24th, we had an initial consultation with Beth and Geraldine of Rainy City Midwifery. They are awesome! We feel so comfortable having them as our birthing team! We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat and it galloped at around 160 bpm! You go baby!

9 Weeks and this Easter we have an egg in our nest!

This is a photo of us during our Easter dinner on April 12th. I'm definitely NOT showing at all, this is my normal belly, lol! We shared the news with our extended family who enjoyed the Bird-i-ful Easter ambiance that we created.

7 Weeks and our little secret

For our DJ company, Bamboo Beats, Isaac provides music for monthly "Tastings and Open House" events for our favorite caterer, Ravishing Radish Catering. There are many vendors at the Tastings and this is a photo taken by Red Fish Blue Fish Photo, another one of our favorites! I'm 7 weeks here and we haven't told anyone (except my mom) yet!

We're Pregnant!

So here's the story. We've been married for almost 6 years and have always wanted to have children. We had been trying for a few years but with no such luck. We were even looking into adoption. The pressure was kind of high so we just decided to not think about it. Around Christmas last year, however, I started to have these intuitions that 2009 just might be the year! It is of course the Chinese Year of the OX, which symbolizes overcoming obstacles.

Around midnight on Saturday, March 21, when we were both sick with terrible colds and my period had been MIA for almost 2 weeks (I was thinking that my illness was causing my late period... it's done that before), we decided to make a run to the grocery store to pick up some pregnancy tests plus coffee ice cream and brownies - just in case it was negative. So, we baked the brownies and then I took the test. I left it in the bathroom and came back with a bowl of ice cream and brownies and to my surprise the results were POSITIVE!!! We could hardly believe our eyes! We were so excited! I quickly downloaded a few pregnancy apps for my iPhone and found out that I was already over 6 weeks and would be due around November 11!
