I have a busy week so my posting will be on the light side until things settle down. In the meantime, here is a sneak peak at the annual Bunka student fashion showcase that I attended this past weekend at my fashion alma mater Seattle Central Community College. Bunka University is in Tokyo and the whole production is a traveling show put on entirely by students! My girlfriend and I go every year and are amazed at the creativity of the fashions and the ingenuity of the production crew.

Those dresses are really beautiful!

Bunka also sends students to San Francisco every year to partner with the Academy or Art students to spend one day designing projects around a common theme each year. We call it the lily bunka project, and it's going on this weekend! Check out the AAU website in the next few weeks to see pictures of what they produce. They are amazingly talented students.

The gowns are magnificently elegant, and yet, it still retains much of the Japanese heritage. I love the mixture of cultural and modern styles.
